We are excited to announce that Bearsden Early Years Centre will be opening soon to provide early learning and childcare for up to 87 children aged 2-5 years. The Centre will be overseen by the Head Teacher of Bearsden Primary and a new team of early years employees will be in place alongside a Depute Head of Centre to oversee the successful opening of the new Centre of 1140 provision for 2020, in line with the Council's commitment to deliver on the Scottish Government's requirement for additional hours of early learning and childcare. From August 2020, all three and four-year-olds, as well as eligible two-year-olds, will receive 1140 hours, almost doubling the original allocation of 600 hours.
The Centre is currently under construction by Robertson who are working on behalf of HUB West Scotland and East Dunbartonshire Council. Due to Covid-19 construction of the new centre has been delayed, but now that building work has restarted we hope to be opening in early Spring 2021.
Applications for session 2020/2021 are currently closed, however late applications will still be accepted and looked at in due course.
More information will be made available shortly
